What is SAC?
The Student Arts Council is a bridge between UAB Visual and Performing Arts and the general student population. We serve as an avenue for consistent student outreach while also providing our members with exposure and opportunities to be involved with UAB Arts events and programs.

SAC members meets regularly throughout the fall and spring semester to plan events, host guest speakers, and to solidify commitments to tabling opportunities on campus.

In addition, the SAC hosts 2 annual events per year:
Halloween event (@ ArtPlay) - This costumed, student event is solely hosted by SAC but includes tabling from other student org groups. Last year was a huge success! The SAC decided to have a "Murder Mystery" walking tour game that ran throughout our 3-story house while student bands performed in the backyard.
Spring Gala (@AEIVA) - Inspired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala, this "dress in theme" student event is created in collaboration with a different student organization each year and includes a charity component in partnership with UAB Blazer Kitchen.

The theme varies annually and is decided upon by student organizers.
